Dear ج, Would you like a bright orange scarf like this lady has around her face to keep cool? You could wear it to school and say to your teacher, Open Ô Sesame! I am Queen of Sheba!

Dear ج, This is the old part of Cairo where many donkeys and cats run in the streets and men put too much sugar in their tea. I hope you brush your teeth twice a day so they stay white and strong and don’t fall out like they do here.

Dear ج, Greetings from the desert city of Chinguetti famous for palm trees and worm-eaten books kept by blind librarians and boys who bring camels to drink at sunset. Mauritania is very sandy and windy so men wear face veils and women are wrapped up like mummies. You’d like it here.
